Many youth in foster care don’t have access to technology, which puts them at a disadvantage in this digital world. “The Golden Age” is a mock-up app based on a proposed initiative to bridge the digital divide. Within this program, adolescents from ages 13-26 can have access to free cell phones and service. After that, they must undergo training for being secure, sensitive, and smart on the web. The last motion of the initiative is to have an app for youth to have access to resources for social engagement, mental health, and professional and educational development as they transition into adulthood.
